While we all go through difficult things and feel upset at times, depression is a completely different type of sadness. Depression is often a overwhelming degree of sadness that lasts for more than 2 continuous weeks. It includes crying spells, hopelessness, helplessness, suicidal thoughts, irritability, sleep and appetite changes, difficulties concentrating and aces/pains. Depression is a serious medical condition that can be helped through counseling and medication management. Seek help as soon as possible. As with any medical condition the earlier it is detected the better chance and quicker response there is for recovery.
