Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a counseling approach that helps people look at their thinking patterns, feelings and behaviors in order to help them better understand their difficulties. As client's tell their stories the therapist they work together to change a client's thoughts and behaviors in situations. The approach is goal orientated and progress towards those goals are checked during sessions. During counseling sessions a client may find that the therapist often asks a lot of questions in order to get a good idea of what the client is experiencing.
