Seasonal Affective Disorder
As the season changes there are many people who go through seasonal affective disorder each year. This is especially true of colder norther cities. The Buffalo weather can play a role in causing this disorder. People tend to feel depressed, down, and sad during the winter months. Some of these symptoms can begin in the earlier fall months and proceed to become more intense through the winter months. This mood change can be caused by decreased sunlight, decrease in outdoor activities and decreases in serotonin in the brain. People who feel this way should consult a counselor and doctor for treatment so that the symptoms do not get worse.
