Depression and Exercise

September 10, 2016

Did you know that an increase in exercise is a leading intervention in treating depression? Exercise helps to release neurotransmitters and endorphins in the body causing us to feel better. Often times when we become depressed exercise is on the back burner. Engaging in even 15 minutes of exercise a day can help to relive depression. It can also help reduce stress.  Exercise is a great intervention to people who are looking for alternative or holistic methods of treatment for their mental health concerns.
